I'm not exactly sure how we decided on a miniature Australian Shepherd (aka mini Aussie). Papa Dash had his heart set on a frisbee or agility dog, which basically meant he wanted a Border Collie. My last dog was a six pound Chihuahua and I definitely wanted another little snuggle bug. Our roommate used to have a mini Aussie, and sang the pseudo-breed's praises to us both: small dog charm packed with intelligence and athleticism.
SOLD. We tried to find an adult dog to adopt, but of the few we found in the Bay Area none were the perfect match for us. Eventually, we ended up working online with a breeder in Oregon. Fast forward a few litters, and we finally found the perfect blue merle boy puppy with one blue eye and own brown eye who was expected to be about 14 or 15 inches tall to the shoulder. Tiny and adorable with the potential to be a great athlete!

Now it's almost December 2009 and Dash is seven months old. Yes, Dash is still cute. But cute can only get you so far in life. We are quickly learning many more adjectives to describe our puppy!
